Billets are long steel semi-finished products with a square cross-section. They are rolled or continuously cast and are then transformed by rolling to obtain finished products. Billets are applied for long steel products such as:

Blooms are semi-finished long products with a rectangular or square cross-section bigger than 160mm. Blooms can be made by rolling from an ingot or continuous casting. Common finished products include structural shapes/rails/rods and seamless.
